The work

Zacatecas

In 2018, after completing language school, we moved to Zacatecas and started our first church, "Iglesia Bautista de Zacatecas," right in our living room. As the congregation grew rapidly, we relocated to my parents' garage temporarily until we found a more suitable building. During this time, we hosted several major events, including a large Christmas giveaway that provided gifts to children who otherwise wouldn't have received any. God's blessings were evident as many came to know Christ as their Savior. After three fruitful years, we handed over the ministry to a local leader and moved to Guadalajara to start our second church.

Guadalajara

In 2021, we moved just south of Guadalajara to a small town called "La Capilla del Refugio" to plant our second church. God blessed us greatly during the year we were there. We organized regular outreach programs such as door-to-door witnessing, youth events, and special Sundays. Within a year, the church grew to about 20 faithful members, and we could see God moving. However, things took an unexpected turn when God called us off the field due to our daughter's health. Praise God, she is doing great now and has a clean bill of health. Making the decision to leave the mission field was the hardest decision we've ever had to make. But even though we had to leave, God stayed! The church continues to grow, and they have even bought property and are building a meeting place! God truly is a great God!

Distribution center

In 2022, when we came off the field, we thought God had closed the door for us to minister in Mexico. But He had different plans. With the help of our sending church, Solid Rock, we established a distribution center and have sent out thousands of Bibles and tracts across Mexico! God is so good that this distribution center is still operating today, spreading the Word of God throughout the country!

The future

In 2024, we started deputation to raise support for our return to Mexico. With our daughter's clean bill of health and a renewed excitement to reach Mexico with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we're back on the road to gather the necessary funds. Our plan is to hit the ground running! Our main focus will be church planting, but we will also have the opportunity to teach at a Bible college in Guadalajara that was established in the late 70s. Please pray with us as we reach Mexico one SOUL at a time!

Religious Shifts: The Rise of Evangelicals in Modern Mexico

Over the past decade, Mexico has experienced a significant religious shift, with the Catholic population decreasing from around 92.9% in 2010 to 77.7% in 2020, while the evangelical population has risen from 7.6% to 11.2% in the same period. This trend reflects a broader diversification of religious affiliations within the country. Evangelical denominations, which include Pentecostals, Baptists, Methodists, and non-denominational Christian groups, have seen notable growth as they offer vibrant worship experiences, strong community support, and active evangelism efforts that resonate with many Mexicans seeking a more personal and dynamic expression of faith.
